The Armed Forces Commander General Joseph Aoun inspected this morning the Airborne Regiment Headquarters in Ghosta where he toured its posts and was informed of its situation and training activities, then met with the officers and soldiers and provided them with the necessary directives.

General Aoun commended the conduct of the regiment as well as the extraordinary combat accomplishments it has achieved in several events, particularly in facing terrorism. General Aoun also called on soldiers to be further prepared to execute expected missions with the spirit of courage and commitment that they are known for. Moreover, General Aoun commended the preemptive operations executed by the directorate of intelligence during the past days in Ersal and stated that swiftly arresting the terrorists responsible for Ras Baalbeck explosions has prevented them from continuing with their criminal schemes and has prevented the fall of numerous victims among civilians.

In this frame, the Armed Forces Commander confirmed the intelligence capability of the LAF to detect terrorist cells in their hideouts. This capability goes in parallel with the field units attacking the locations of terrorist organizations at the eastern borders and tightening their grip on them with the aim of permanently repelling them.

General Aoun assured that the stability of the country lies within the hands of the LAF who will not allow its stability to be breached under any circumstance.

The Armed Forces Commander later inspected the soldiers who were wounded as a result of the explosion that they have been exposed to yesterday in Bekaa where he was informed of their health situation and wished them a fast recovery.
