The Armed Forces Commander visited the UNIFIL

The Armed Forces Commander visited the West and East sectors of the UNIFIL where he was received by Commander General Stefano Del Col. General Aoun began by visiting Miguel de Cervantes Spanish base in Ebl el Saki – Marjeyoun, with the presence of General Rafael Martinez del Peral who presented a briefing about the missions of units operating in the sector east. General Aoun then moved to Millevoi Italian base in Chamaa where he attended a briefing presented by its leader General Bruno Pisciotha concerning the missions of the units operating in the west sector. General Aoun confirmed that this visit is just like any other visit to a brigade or unit for the LAF, considering that the UNIIFIL is part of the LAF family, commending the efforts they exert in the region, including projects and activities that boost stability and security and lessen life conditions in such hard economic situation.
General Aoun also extended his appreciation to the states participating in the UNIFIL and commended the sacrifices of their troops, particularly during the security developments that the borders have recently witnessed as well as their commitment to Resolution 1701. General Aoun stated that he is in constant contact with the UNIFIL in order to tackle any emergency and also stressed on boosting cooperation and coordination with the UNIFIL through training and joint rills that contribute to enhancing expertise and military skills, thus making the South Litani Sector safer and more stable in Lebanon.
