The army arrests 4 citizens in Metn and Baalbek for shooting during funeral ceremonies and a clash

The Lebanese Army Command – Directorate of Orientation issued the following statement:
An army unit carried out raids in Rouayssat -Metn and arrested three citizens for shooting during a funeral ceremony on May 19, 2026, as part of ongoing efforts to pursue gunfire offenders across various Lebanese regions.
Another army unit raided the homes of individuals involved in an incident in the town of Brital, Baalbek, which included gunfire. The unit arrested the citizen (B.A.) and seized a quantity of weapons, military ammunition, and military equipment found in his possession
The seized items were handed over to the competent authorities, and the investigation was initiated with the detainees under the supervision of the competent judicial authorities. Efforts are ongoing to arrest the remaining individuals involved in the shooting.
