The Army Arrests a Citizen for Shooting the Municipal Council President of Deir Mimas – Marjaayoun, Resulting in His Death

The Army Command – Directorate of Orientation issued the following statement:

On June 1, 2026, the citizen (F.B.), opened fire on the Municipal Council President of Deir Mimas in Marjaayoun Suhail Abu Jamra, resulting in his death. The town's Mayor was also injured.

The army immediately intervened, and a military unit carried out a raid and arrested the shooter.

The investigation was initiated with the arrestee under the supervision of the competent judicial authorities.
