The Army Command declares the martyrdom of Sergeant First Class Walid Mahmoud Freij

The Army Command - Directorate of Orientation declares the martyrdom of Sergeant First Class Walid Mahmoud Freij who passed away this morning due to the wounds he suffered from in Ras Baalbek on 19/8/2017 while dismantling a land mine. The following information offer a glimpse of his life and career:


-Born on 15/5/1986 in Taalabeya – Zahle.


-His services were extended as a conscript in the army starting 27/5/2007 and he was transferred to active service on 26/2/2008.


-Received the commendation of the Armed Forces and felicitations on several occasions as well as the felicitation of the minister of interior on one occasion.


-Marital status: married with one child.


The body of the martyr will be transported at 12:00 from the Central Military Hospital – Badaro to the village of Saadnayel – the Bekaa where the funeral will take place while the body will be buried at the town cemetery on the same day following the prayer of Asr.
Condolences may be paid before and after the funeral and for three days at the residence of the martyr’s father in the mentioned town.
