The Army Command – Directorate of Orientation issued the following statement:

Following a previous statement regarding details concerning the terrorist explosions which struck the Qaa village, the Army Command notes that yesterday night at 22:30, one of the suicide bombers threw a hand grenade targeting a group of people gathered in front of the village church then detonated himself with the explosive belt he was wearing. Following this incident, another suicide bomber driving a motorcycle blew himself up in the same spot, then two other militants attempted to detonate themselves. However, a Lebanese Army Intelligence Directorate unit tracked down one of the bombers and the pursuit pushed him to detonate himself without causing any casualties while the other bomber attempted to detonate himself in front of a military post but he was targeted by the army troops and this has also forced the bomber to detonate himself without hurting anyone.
The Lebanese Army sent additional reinforcements to the village, and army units launched large scale raids and search operations in the village and its surrounding in search of suspicious individuals.
