Army Command: Military Units Entered the Town of Zawtar Al Gharbiyeh, Not Zawtar Al Sharqiyeh

The Army Command – Directorate of Orientation issued the following statement:

The Lebanese Army Command confirms that military units deployed inside the town of Zawtar Al Gharbiyeh after the necessary coordination and communication had been conducted with the Military Coordination Group for Lebanon (MCG4L). The units did not enter the town of Zawtar Al Sharqiyeh.

The Army Command further clarifies that Israeli occupation forces approached the outskirts of Zawtar Al Gharbiyeh while Lebanese Army personnel were inside the town carrying out the deployment mission and opened fire in their vicinity, endangering the troops and obstructing the execution of their assigned mission.  The Israeli occupation forces should address any issues through the Military Coordination Group for Lebanon (MCG4L) and via the established coordination and communication channels, rather than resorting to acts of aggression.
