The Army declared the sad demise of retired Major General Hani Monammad Abbas

The Army Headquarters – Directorate of Orientation declared the sad demise of retired Major General Hani Mohammad Abbas who passed away on 31/08/2016. In the following is a brief summary of the late General’s life and career.
- Born on 01/07/1932, Zebdine - Nabatiye
- Enlisted in the Army as a Cadet Officer on 16/10/1952
- Promoted to Lieutenant starting 20/09/1955 and was gradually promoted to Major General starting 1/1/1989.
- Was assigned to several positions such as: Commander of the 2nd Artillery Regiment and Commander of the South region.
- Received the commendation of LAF Commander twice and was granted several medals such as: the Lebanese Merit medal 1st Grade and Silver for Paramedic as well as the National Cedar medal of grades: Knight, officer and commander along with the Silver Lebanese Merit medal.
- Followed several training sessions in the USA and France.
- Married with 3 children.
The body of the deceased will be transported on 01/09/2016 at 8.30 from the Central Military Hospital to Zebdine - Nabatiyeh where the funeral will take place on the same day at 14.00.
Condolences can be paid before and after the funeral and on 02 and 03/09/2016 in the residence of the deceased in the above mentioned region and on 04/09/2016 at 10.00 in the Housseyniye of the town and on 06/09/2016 from 15.00 until 18.00 in the Islamic committee for specialization and scientific orientation – Ramle el Bayda.
