The Army Headquarters declares the sad demise of retired Pilot and Brigadier General Ali Hassan Hamdan

The Army Headquarters – Directorate of Orientation declares the sad demise of retired Pilot and Brigadier General Ali Hassan Hamdan who passed away on 27/2/2017 and the following excerpts offer a summary of his biography:

  • Born on 1/7/1939 in Maaser el-Shouf - Shouf
  • Enlisted in the Army on 1/1/1959 and was promoted to Second Lieutenant starting 16/11/1962 and rose through the ranks and became Brigadier General starting 1/1/1987.
  • Received several medals and the commendation of the LAF Commander several times.
  • Followed several training courses in Lebanon and abroad.
  • Married with one child.

The body will be transported from Aïn w Zein Hospital at 8:00 on 1/3/2017 to the village of Maaser el-Shouf where the funeral will take place on the same day at 12:00.

Condolences can be paid after the funeral at the public hall and during the rest of the week starting 15:00 till 20:00 in the late Brigadier General’s residence in Maaser el-Shouf. Furthermore, condolences can be paid and on 6/3/2017 starting 15:00 till 18:00 in the hall of the Druze confession Hall in Verdun - Beirut.
