Army Liberates Kidnapped Individual and Arrests Those Involved in Amchit – Jbeil; Two Gangs Involved in Human Smuggling Arrested in Bwar – Keserwan

The Army Command – Directorate of Orientation issued the following statement:
A patrol from the Intelligence Directorate succeeded in liberating a kidnapped individual in Amchit – Jbeil following careful security monitoring and follow-up operations, and arrested seven individuals involved in the kidnapping.
Subsequently, another patrol from the Directorate raided a residential complex in Bwar – Keserwan, and arrested 12 Syrians, including three women, for moving within Lebanese territory without legal documents. Following preliminary investigations, it was found that the detainees formed two gangs involved in human smuggling activities. The women were also found to be involved in acts contrary to public morals. The kidnapping was found to have resulted from financial disputes among the smugglers.
The investigation with the detainees was initiated under the supervision of the competent judicial authorities.
