The Army monitors the landing of a hostile Israeli force near Khraibeh – Baalbek at the Lebanese–Syrian border
The Lebanese Army Command – Directorate of Orientation issued the following statement:
On the night of 6–7 March 2026, at 22:50, army units detected four hostile Israeli helicopters over Khraibeh – Baalbek area along the Lebanese–Syrian border. Two of the helicopters landed a force in the vicinity of the area, coinciding with intense and wide-scale aerial bombardment of nearby villages.
Following this, the relevant military units implemented immediate alert and defensive measures and launched illumination flares to reveal the landing site, while the members of the enemy force had already disappeared from sight.
The landing operation was accompanied by hostile shelling and sweeping fire targeting the area. This was followed by an exchange of gunfire between the enemy force and local residents after the force moved from the landing site toward Nabi Chit, while the operation continued until around 3:00 a.m.
Three soldiers and a number of civilians were killed as a result of the intense hostile bombardment accompanying the operation.
Follow-up is ongoing to determine the circumstances of the operation.
