The Army Pursues Security Offenders and Individuals Involved in Drug Trafficking, Arrests 3, and Seizes 1.5 Million Captagon Pills
The Lebanese Army Command – Directorate of Orientation issued the following statement:
As part of ongoing efforts to combat drug trafficking across various Lebanon regions and following surveillance operations targeting narcotics distribution networks, a patrol from the Intelligence Directorate conducted a raid on 8/12/ 2025 in the town of Bouday–Baalbek. The patrol arrested the citizen (B.J.) and the Syrian national (B.Sh.) on suspicion of involvement in smuggling drugs outside Lebanese territory, and seized forged documents in their possession. Following investigation with the arrestees, the patrol conducted another raid on 12/12/2025 on a premises in Hosh Barda–Baalbek, where it seized approximately 1.5 million Captagon pills prepared for smuggling.
Additionally, on 13/12/2025, an Army unit supported by a patrol from the Intelligence Directorate raided a residence in Al Qasr–Hermel and arrested the citizen (A.J.) for committing several crimes, including kidnapping and robbery, trafficking in weapons and drugs, and shooting.
The seized items were handed over, and the investigation were initiated with the detainees under the supervision of the competent judicial authority.
