The army resumed the process of paying compensation to the victims of the Beirut port explosion

The Army Command – Directorate of Orientation issued the following statement:

After His Excellency the President of the Republic, General Michel Aoun, signed a decree in advance of an amount of 50 billion pounds to complete the payment of compensation to the victims of the Beirut Port explosion, the army will resume on January 11, 2022 the process of distributing compensation to the damaged housing units in the areas (Al Karantina, Mar Mikhael, Gemayzeh, Corniche Al Nahr, Al-Jitaoui, Al-Mudawwar and Al-Ramil), which were classified as medium and below average and had not previously benefited from compensation.
