The Army seizes 122 mm Grad rockets smuggled from Syrian territory into Lebanese territory, arrests two individuals belonging to the smuggling network, and carries out raid operations

The Army Command – Directorate of Orientation issued the following statement:

On 3 August 2026, as a result of security follow-up on smuggling operations across the northern and eastern borders, an Army unit seized 122 mm Grad rockets in the outskirts of Arsal that had been smuggled from Syrian territory into Lebanese territory, in addition to a pickup truck used to transport them. The unit also arrested the two individuals (AA.H.) and (M.W.), who are members of the smuggling network.

The Army also carried out raid operations in search of the remaining members of the network and seized military ammunition and equipment.

The seized items were handed over, and an investigation into the two arrestees was initiated under the supervision of the competent judicial authorities. Efforts are ongoing to arrest the remaining individuals involved.
