Arrest of 3 Individuals and Seizure of Contraband as Part of Security Measures

The Lebanese Army Command - Directorate of Orientation issued the following statement:

As part of the security measures being implemented by the military institution across various regions, a patrol from the Intelligence Directorate arrested in Bekaa the Syrian (B.B.) and his brother (A.B.) for attempting to smuggle weapons and seized a quantity of ammunition in their possession.

Additionally, two army units, each supporting a patrol from the Intelligence Directorate, arrested one individual and confiscated contraband as follows:

• The arrest of the citizen (N.R.) at the Wadi Hmayed checkpoint in Arsal for attempting to flee from the checkpoint personnel, with weapons and military ammunition in his possession.
• Seizure of a quantity of Hashish and ammunition in the Ras Al Maal in Hermel.

The seized items were handed over, and an investigation was initiated with the arrestees under the supervision of the competent judicial authorities. Follow-ups are ongoing to arrest the other individuals involved.
