Arrest of a Citizen for Committing Various Crimes, Including Arms Trafficking and Shooting

The LAF Command - Directorate of Orientation issued the following statement:

Following surveillance and monitoring, a patrol from the Directorate of Intelligence arrested in Al Qasr – Hermel, the citizen (H.Z.), who is wanted for heading kidnapping gangs that demanded ransoms, and for engaging in the trafficking of military weapons and drugs, as well as stealing vehicles and smuggling them into Syrian territory.

During the arrest operation, the patrol came under gunfire, prompting the soldiers to return fire, which resulted in the suspect being injured. He was transported to a hospital for treatment.

A military weapon, a quantity of drugs, and forged identification documents were seized in his possession.

The seized items were handed over, and an investigation was initiated with the arrestee under the supervision of the competent judicial authority.
