Arrest of an Individual Inciting Sectarian Strife

The Lebanese Army Command – Directorate of Orientation issued the following statement:

On 6/5/2026, the Intelligence Directorate arrested citizen (AA.S.) for publishing an image and writings insulting a religious figure and a number of state symbols, and for inciting sectarian strife on social media on 1 and 2/5/2026. This came in connection with a video clip broadcast by one of the television stations.

The investigation with the arrestee was initiated under the supervision of the competent judicial authorities.
