Arrest of a Syrian in Bekaa

The Army Command – Directorate of Orientation issued the following statement:
On 1/4/2021, a patrol from the Intelligence Directorate arrested the Syrian (M.T) in Baalbek.
On 27/1/2021, the arrestee had killed Jihad Mohsen Wizani and wounded his son, after an attempt to rob him by luring him through a social media site to the Nabi Sheit Junction in the Bekaa under the pretext of selling a car.
The detainee, along with others, form a gang of armed robbery, drug trafficking and they seek to lure people over the phone and then rob them.

An investigation was initiated with the arrested under the supervision of the competent judiciary authorities. It is being followed-up to arrest the remaining  members.
