Arrest of a wanted individual in Araya for various offences

The Army Command – Directorate of Orientation issued the following statement:

On 12/04/2021, a patrol from the Intelligence Directorate arrested (B.M.) in Araya, who was riding a public commuter bus to disguise his movements.

The arrestee is wanted for several arrest warrants: abusing and promoting drugs, shooting towards military vehicles, attempting to kill soldiers, counterfeiting, arms trade and transfer of military materiel and ammunitions, forming a marauding gang to rob citizens by force of arms, extorting shop owners, stealing cars and smuggling them into Syrian territory in cooperation with a number of smugglers. He was seized in possession of a military handgun and an amount of narcotics.

An investigation was initiated with the arrestee under the supervision of the competent judiciary authorities.
