The Army Command – Directorate of Orientation issued the following statement:

The LAF Directorate of Intelligence met with members of the municipal board of Baabda – Louwaize who requested clarifications vis-à-vis the fears of the townspeople and municipality representatives concerning any explosion that might occur in the area, particularly in the vicinity of Saint Charles Hospital, following the claims of Israeli enemy Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu in a press conference he held previously where he indicated the presence of weapons and ammunition in the mentioned area.

The hearing was set up based upon the judicial reference of the Cassation Public Prosecution Department which required opening an investigation in the content of a letter addressed by the municipality members to the Head of Baabda – Louwaizeh Municipality who addressed the letter in his turn to the Army Command to take the appropriate measures.

The Directorate of Intelligence inspected the mentioned site for the second time this year and showed that the claims which raised fears regarding the presence of weapons and ammunition are completely baseless and unfounded.
