A boat intercepted in the middle of the sea while illegally sailing towards Cyprus

The Army Command – Directorate of Orientation issued the following statement:

On this date, the Lebanese Naval Forces received from the naval force operating under the UNIFIL Command a boat with 32 Syrian and Lebanese individuals on board who were heading to Cyprus in an illegal way. The boat was intercepted by the mentioned international force in the middle of the sea outside the regional Lebanese waters facing Tripoli.

The military healthcare worked with the participation of the Red Cross on treating the individuals and investigations were carried out under the supervision of the relevant authorities.
