With the presence of the Director of Orientation Brigadier General Ali Kanso representing LAF Commander General Joseph Aoun as well as a number of officers, representatives of the Lebanese University and private universities and the organization of the Youth of Lebanon towards Patriotism, a ceremony was held yesterday in the central military club – Manara in order to distribute awards to the winners of the top 3 places in a poster-making contest inspired by the Army Day and martyrs for the year 2017. Brigadier General Kanso delivered a speech on the occasion in which he congratulated all the contestants and expressed his appreciation to the officials of national universities and to the organization of the Youth of Lebanon towards Patriotism who contributed to making this contest a success. His speech included the following: what makes us all prouder in this meeting is that it is taking place in the days of the historic victory achieved by the LAF against terrorist organizations in the “Dawn of the Jurds” operation in order to completely liberate the eastern border, which is an essential pillar for the nation, and return it to the country.: He added: “the Lebanese’ trust, with their different confessions, in the army which were embodied in their unity round it during all the battles it fought against the enemies of the country, last of them is the “Dawn of the Jurds” operation, only double the LAF’s responsibility and determination to achieve success in any mission it might perform. You, the young generation remain the most trusting in the military institution and the most prepared to assist it during the times of war and peace as well. May you have the will to work with the aim of development in loyalty to the blood of martyrs who fell for the sake of Lebanon and as a guarantee to the future of this country which you aim to have as a reflection of your ambitions.”
Afterwards, the results were announced as follows:
-    First place: Rebecca el Samarani – USEK
-    Second Place: Jean-Paul Nohra – Lebanese University
-    Third Place: Ali Najdi – Lebanese University
