Ceremony for the Reception of a Donation from the State of Qatar, through the Qatar Fund for Development, for the Army
A ceremony was held at the Logistic Brigade in Kfarchima to mark the reception of the first batch of a donation from the State of Qatar, through the Qatar Fund for Development, to the Army. The donation includes a number of vehicles. The ceremony was attended by the Qatari Ambassador to Lebanon, Sheikh Saud bin Abdulrahman Al Thani; the U.S. Ambassador, Michel Issa; the Deputy Chief of Staff for Logistics, representing the Lebanese Army Commander-in-Chief, General Rodolph Haykal; and several officers.
During the ceremony, Brigadier General Amin Al Qai, Deputy Chief of Staff for Logistics, delivered a speech in which he stated: “This donation comes as a continuation of a series of valuable assistance provided by the Qatari authorities, reflecting their commitment to meeting part of the Army’s needs and supporting its efforts to preserve Lebanon’s security and stability.”
For his part, the Qatari Ambassador reaffirmed his country’s commitment to standing by Lebanon, its keenness to strengthen fraternal relations and cooperation between the two countries, and its continued support for the Army, in the belief in its pivotal role in maintaining security and stability. He also noted that Qatari initiatives would continue in the future.
At the conclusion of the ceremony, Brigadier General Al Qai presented the Qatari Ambassador with a letter of appreciation on behalf of the Lebanese Army Commander-in-Chief.
