Chief of Staff Major General Hatem Mallak P.S.C inspected the military units deployed in Marjeyoun, Hasbaya and Chebaa

Chief of Staff Major General Hatem Mallak P.S.C inspected this morning the military units deployed in Marjeyoun, Hasbaya and Chebaa where he toured the frontline posts and was informed of their defense procedures. Major General Mallak also met with the officers and soldiers and transferred to them the direction of the LAF Commander in Chief General Jean Kahwagi. Moreover, the Chief of Staff commended the efforts and high preparedness of the troops in defending the southern border in the face of the Israeli enemy as well as preserving the stability of border regions with the help of the UNIFIL. Major General Mallak also confirmed that the ultimate priority for the army lies in protecting the borders from any assault or breach, whether from the Israeli enemy or terrorist groups, because this mission is the essence of national sovereignty and the main guarantee to prevent the infiltration of dangers to the inside of the country, thus threatening national stability. Furthermore, the Chief of Staff stated that the swift operation executed by the army this morning in Denniye and resulted in arresting the perpetrators who attacked an army posts, is a pertinent proof of the army’s determination and capability to pursue terrorist wherever they were in order to protect citizens. It is also a pertinent proof that any attack on soldiers or citizens will not go unpunished.  Major General Mallak also ended the meeting by calling upon the troops to be more aware and prepared to face all possible dangers and emergencies.
