A citizen arrested in Baalbek for digging a tunnel under a church

The Army Command – Directorate of Orientation issued the following statement:

On this date, an Intelligence patrol raided the residence of Ahmad Abbas el Kherfan for having information about digging a tunnel underneath his house, near the Greek Catholic Archeparchy in the Old Souk – Baalbek, with the aim of searching for valuable items. The mentioned individual was arrested, the tunnel was discovered and the digging tools were confiscated in addition to an Oxygen pumping machine inside the tunnel.

Investigation with the arrested individual was carried out under the supervision of the relevant authorities.
