Clarification around the cell phones issue at the airport

The Army Headquarters - Directorate of Orientation issued the following statement:  
Some Media outlets have been broadcasting information about the relation of Major Nizar Daw from the LAF in the case of cell phones smuggling along with other forbidden items through Rafik Hariri International Airport. This information is far from true and it taints the reputation of the mentioned officer.
The Army headquarters would like to clarify that it conducted the necessary investigation in this case under the supervision of the military General Prosecutor’s office and as a result, the mentioned officer was not related in any way to the mentioned case.
The Army Headquarters would like to call upon media outlets to abide by the law, particularly the laws of prints and audio – visual media, as well as not to broadcast any false news or photos that taint the reputation of soldiers and to refer to the Army Command in order to get the right information.
