Clarification concerning news published in certain media outlets and social media websites

Some social media websites published pictures of the Armed Forces Commander General Joseph Aoun along with arrested agent Amer Elias Fakhouri. The Army Command clarifies that these pictures were taken during General Aoun’s visit to the USA in October 2017 during a reception that was held by the Lebanese Embassy honoring General Aoun where guests, including agent Fakhouri, took pictures alongside him and there is no personal acquaintance between Fakhouri and General Aoun.

Moreover, certain news websites published news concerning a Brigadier General in the LAF accompanying the mentioned agent to a Lebanese General Security Post. The Command also confirms that it is tackling this issue with the relevant legal manners.
