Clarification concerning what a journalist published about the weapons received by the LAF

Friday, 17 November 2017

The Army Headquarters – Directorate of Orientation issued the following statement:
A journalist stated in a political talk show broadcasted by a local TV Channel on 16/11/2017 that half of the weapons received by the LAF is intended for a political party.
The Army Headquarters expresses its ultimate regret for such low level of misleading information, fake news and underestimation of general opinion and confirms that what was stated is merely a fragment of the person’s imagination and is not at all related to truth, objectivity and credibility. It rather targets the dignity of the LAF and undermines the sacrifices of the martyrs and offers a free favor to the Israeli enemy at a time where the LAF continues to confront terrorism and exert the most ultimate of efforts with the aim of preserving national unity and Lebanon’s stability at this critical phase of its history, which requires everyone to support it and to have ultimate national responsibility rather than pointing fingers towards the military institution regarded by all Lebanese as the guarantee for the protection of the nation from challenges and dangers.
The Army Headquarters notifies any concerned individual to refrain from dragging the military institution into the current political crises and in personal affairs and interests that have no relation to the military institution.
