Clarification Regarding Reports of a Citizen’s Death Following Questioning by the Army
The Army Command – Directorate of Orientation issued the following statement:
Reports have been circulating regarding the death of a citizen following questioning by the Army. The Army Command wishes to clarify that after the individual in question was detained for questioning, he was transferred to a hospital upon the emergence of health symptoms that required medical evaluation. He later passed away at the hospital. It is noted that, both prior to and following the handover of the body to his family, forensic examinations were conducted by medical examiners, who issued several reports.
The Army Command calls for refraining from addressing this matter due to its sensitive nature. It further emphasizes that the Army has expanded its investigation under the supervision of the competent judicial authorities to determine the circumstances surrounding the incident and to identify any responsibilities, should they be established.
