Clarification on Repositioning and Deployment in Southern Border Towns

Wednesday, 01 April 2026

The Lebanese Army Command – Directorate of Orientation issued the following statement:

As a result of the escalation of Israeli aggression against Lebanon, particularly in areas witnessing enemy incursions around southern border towns—leading to the encirclement, isolation, and disruption of supply lines for deployed army units—the army has carried out a repositioning and deployment operation involving a number of these units.

The command also notes that it continues to stand by the residents, within available capabilities, by maintaining a number of soldiers in those towns.

While Israeli aggressions persist without distinction between military personnel and civilians across various regions, the Army Command stresses the danger of incitement and attempts by some media outlets and social media platforms to cast doubt on the role of the military institution. Such actions have negative repercussions on residents and contribute to internal tension, at a time when the institution is making its utmost efforts to fulfill its duties within available resources, amid significant pressures and challenges resulting from the current sensitive circumstances.
