Completion of the Operation to Rescue Individuals trapped in the cable cars in Jounieh

The Army Command - Directorate of Orientation issued the following statement:
On 28/12/2023, the operation to rescue individuals trapped in the cable cars in Jounieh was successfully completed. The operation was carried out by the Airborne Regiment in the Lebanese Armed Forces, with the participation of the Civil Defense, from 12:00 PM to 7:00 PM. An Air Force helicopter assisted in identifying the cable cars with people trapped inside. The Airborne Regiment rescued 34 individuals, while the Civil Defense rescued 8 individuals.
