A delegation from the US agency for the limitation of security dangers and a delegation of the United Kingdom visited the 1st Land Border Regiment in Shadra - Akkar

A delegation of the US agency for the limitation of security dangers headed by Admiral Scott Jerabek accompanied by the United States Ambassador Ms. Elizabeth Richard and the United States Defense Attaché Colonel Uli V. Calvo in addition to a British delegation that included the Ambassador of the United Kingdom Mr. Hugo Shorter, the United Kingdom Defense Attaché Lieutenant Colonel Chris Gunning and members of the Embassy visited the 1st Land Border Regiment in the region of Shadra – Akkar. The visitors were received by the Regiment Commander and a number of officers. During the visit, both delegations attended a briefing that highlighted the missions of the Regiment as well as its special combat and technical capabilities in terms of border control. Later during the visit, the delegation members took a tour around the surveillance posts and reviewed the equipment provided to the Regiment by the United States and the United Kingdom.
