Exceptional Security Measures across Various Lebanese Regions on the Occasion of New Year’s Day

The Lebanese Army Command – Directorate of Orientation issued the following statement:

Army units will carry out exceptional security measures across various Lebanese regions on the occasion of New Year’s Day, with the aim of maintaining security.

The Army Command calls on citizens to cooperate with the security measures in place in order to preserve public safety and prevent any disturbances. It also warns against celebratory gunfire, under penalty of legal prosecution, due to the danger it poses to citizens’ lives and the threat it represents to public safety.

The Army Command reminds citizens that permits for carrying weapons and facilitation passes are suspended until 2 January 2026.
