An exchange of fire between the army and wanted individuals in Baalbek, and seizure of a quantity of weapons and ammunition

The Army Command – Directorate of Orientation issued the following statement:

On 7/5/2023, upon the information about the presence of cars carrying out suspicious activities in Tal Al-Abyad - Baalbek, an army force took security measures in the area. The force was subjected to gunfire, and the soldiers returned fire, which led to the injury of a citizen and two soldiers slightly. The injured were directly transferred to the hospital for treatment.

The force arrested the Syrian wanted (AA.I.) suspected of participating in the shooting at the patrol, and seized a Kalashnikov weapon, a quantity of hashish, and military ammunition. A Tahoe four-wheel-drive vehicle was also seized, and inside it were found: a BKS military weapon, two Kalashnikovs, 3 RPGs, and a quantity of ammunition.

The seized were handed over and the investigation was initiated with the arrestees under the supervision of the competent judicial authorities.
