Exchange of Fire with Wanted Individuals in Maqneh – Baalbek; Army Arrests Members of Drug-Trafficking Gang in Fanar Al Zaaytrie

The Army Command – Directorate of Orientation issued the following statement:

An Army unit raided the homes of wanted individuals in the Maqneh - Baalbek and arrested the Lebanese national (R.M.) for opening fire. The unit also seized a quantity of weapons and military ammunition, as well as a quantity of drugs.

During the raid, an exchange of fire took place between the unit’s personnel and the wanted individuals, with no injuries reported. Efforts are ongoing to arrest them.

Another Army unit raided the homes of wanted individuals in Fanar Al Zaaytrie - Matn following security surveillance and monitoring operations. Five individuals were arrested for forming a gang involved in drug trafficking. A quantity of drugs, as well as weapons and military ammunition, was seized in their possession.

The seized items were handed over, and the investigation with the detainees was initiated under the supervision of the competent judicial authorities.
