Funeral of Martyr Corporal Chadi el Kassis in Aayta el Fokhar - Rashaya

The Army Command and the citizens of Aayta el Fokhar - Rashaya organized the funeral of Martyr Corporal Chadi el Kassis where crowds of troops and citizens attended. Kassis had martyred on 04/03/2018 following an accident in the military vehicle he was riding while patrolling. After the honoring ceremony, the martyr’s body was decorated with the Medal of War and the Medal of the Wounded in Bronze and the ritual prayers were performed in his town Aayta el Fokhar. Brigadier General P.S.C Ali Ramadan represented both Minister of Defense Yaacoub Riyad el-Sarraf and Armed Forces Commander General Joseph Aoun during the funeral. Brigadier General P.S.C Ali Ramadan delivered a speech on the occasion in which he praised the martyr’s professionalism and sacrifices. His speech included “we are speechless before the martyrdom of our comrade. Destiny hastily kidnapped him at a very young age. However, we, as soldiers, are constantly prepared to pay this price in the fields of honor or through performing our duty with full persuasion due to our confidence that the nation is renewed with its martyrs”.
