In light of the fact that citizens continue to suffer from injuries as a result of the explosion of mines, cluster bombs and suspicious ordnances, the Army Command – Directorate of Orientation would like to remind the citizens that the mentioned ammunition vary in shape and size and might be camouflaged in different ways and randomly spread all around territories that have witnessed armed conflicts. In order to preserve public safety, the army command would like to call on citizens to abide by the following directions and guidelines:
- Refrain from approaching suspicious locations
- Abide by warning signs and abstaining from removing these signs or attempt to enter fenced areas
- Refrain from touching or tampering with mines, cluster bombs, suspicious ordnances and unexploded devices
- Refrain from taking unsafe roads and always commit to paved roads
- Always commit to safety rules because the absence of clues or signs does not mean the absence of dangerous ordnances.
The Army Command would also like to urge the citizens to report to the nearest military post or contact the Lebanese Mine Action Center on the following numbers: 05/956143 and 05/956193, or the Ministry of Defense on the number 1701 when coming across a mine or a strange object.
