HANDOVER CEREMONY OF A DONATION OFFERED BY THE FINNISH AUTHORITIES

Today, a tribute ceremony was held at the Benoit Barakat barracks on the occasion of the rehabilitation of a building in the South Litani Sector Command, a briefing room for the Tyre Security Office and a donation for the Hasbaya Military Clinic, by the Finnish authorities as a donation to the South Litani Sector of the Lebanese Army, in the presence of The sector commander, Brigadier General P.S.C. Maroun Al-Qubayati, representing the Lebanese Army Commander in Chief General Joseph Aoun and the Commander of the Finnish contingent  operating within the United Nations Interim Force in Lebanon, along with a number of officers.

The commander of the Finnish contingent delivered a speech on the occasion, in which he confirmed the importance of cooperation between the armies and the unit of his country, praising the efforts made to maintain the security and stability of the southern regions. General Al-Qubayati delivered a speech in which he said: "Since the beginning of its participation in UNIFIL, the Finnish contingent has demonstrated a sincere and firm commitment to the values ​​of friendship and affection between the Lebanese and Finnish peoples. This humanitarian aspect is paralleled by a high degree of professionalism and organization shown by Finnish personnel during the accomplishment of missions in coordination with the army, according to Resolution 1701 and its implications, thus playing a crucial role in maintaining peace in the south.

In conclusion, General Al-Qubayati, in the name of the Army Commander in chief, presented a commemorative shield to the commander of the Finnish contingent  in appreciation of his efforts.
