An Honoring Ceremony For The UNIFIL on the occasion of the 74th Independence Day
On the occasion of the 74th Independence Day, an honoring ceremony for the UNIFIL was held in Tyr Resthouse and was attended by Brigadier General PSC Khalil el Gemayel representing the LAF Commander General Joseph Aoun, the UNIFIL Commander General Michael Beary and several officers and official and spiritual figures.
The Commander of the South Litani sector Brigadier General P.S.C Robert el Aalam delivered a speech on the occasion in which he commended the sacrifices of the UNIFIL in order to preserve the stability of the South, as well as their firm cooperation with the LAF in order to implement the resolution 1701. Furthermore, General Beary delivered a speech in which he congratulated the audience on the occasion and commended the role of the LAF in preserving Lebanon’s unity, sovereignty and independence. General Beary added that the state of security and safety in the South is the fruit of the joint wills and the mutual trust between the LAF, the UNIFIL and the villagers of borderline regions.
