Human smuggling operation by sea thwarted

The Army Command – Directorate of Orientation issued the following statement:

On 09/05/2021, a patrol from the Army Navy Forces stopped a boat detected by the radars 10 nautical miles offshore from Tripoli, during the attempted smuggling of 60 persons (59 Syrians and a Lebanese) through Lebanese territorial waters.

The arrestees were handed over to the competent judiciary authorities.
