The inauguration ceremony of the 50th Marathon World military championship
Under the patronage of the Armed Forces Commander General Joseph Aoun, represented by the commander of the higher center for military sports Brigadier General George el Hedd, the inauguration ceremony of the 50th Marathon World military championship was held in General Emile Lahoud military sports complex, with the participation of states in the international council for military sports and military sports figures, with the presence of security leaders, representatives from the international council for military sports and several presidents of clubs and sports leagues in addition to officers and soldiers.
The ceremony began with the national anthem and hoisting the flags of the participating countries. The representative of the international council for military sports, Brigadier General P.S.C Aboubacar Biro CONDÉ delivered a speech on the occasion in which he expressed his appreciation to the efforts exerted by the LAF in organizing this championship that contributes to supporting world peace. Brigadier General el Hedd delivered a speech on the occasion in which he expressed his appreciation to all individuals who contributed to the success if this championship. His speech included: “it is a great honor to host an international championship on Lebanese land. Your attendance from all over the world is a pertinent proof of your trust in our nation, which is an encouragement for the “brotherhood through sports” emblem. Brigadier General el Hedd also announced the opening of the championship. In the end, a toast was held on the occasion.”
