Injury of a Soldier Following Gunfire Incident Involving Army Patrol in Wadi Al Aswad Area, on the outskirts of Yanta – Rashaya

The following statement was issued by the Army Command - Directorate of Guidance:

On December 26, 2024, while conducting a reconnaissance patrol in the Wadi Al Aswad area on the outskirts of Yanta-Rashaya, near the Lebanese-Syrian border, unknown armed individuals from the Syrian side opened fire on the patrol. The patrol members returned fire, resulting in an exchange of gunfire during which one soldier was injured and subsequently transported to a hospital for treatment.

Military units deployed in the sector have implemented stringent security measures, and the necessary follow-up on the incident is ongoing.
