The LAF Commander received a donation offered by the Lebanese Association of the Knights of Malta

The LAF Commander General Joseph Aoun received in his office in Yarzeh the Chairman of the Lebanese Association of the Knights of Malta Mr. Marwan Sahnawi, its executive director Mr. Paul Saghbini and other members of the Association in the presence of Major General Elias el-Chemieh and the Military Healthcare Commander Brigadier General P.S.C Georges Youssef. The association members wished to offer a donation to the Military Healthcare.

General Aoun expressed his gratitude to Mr. Sahnawi for this donation that will surely contribute to boosting the Military Healthcare capabilities, particularly in fighting Coronavirus and preventing its spread.

The delegation headed afterwards to the Military Healthcare in Badaro to deliver the donation to Brigadier General P.S.C Youssef. The donation consisted of ventilators without tracheal intubation made by the French company (Air Liquide) which is considered one of the leading companies in producing this equipment. The delegation also provided 1000 rapid tests and 1000 PCR tests, an automated extractor for PCR tests in addition to its supplies (2000 extractor kits).

This donation comes as part of a cooperation protocol that the Association signed lately with the LAF Military Healthcare with the aim of enhancing the level of its performance in a way to enable it to provide medical healthcare services for the beneficiaries in a more efficient way.

Mr. Sahnawi said during the visit that “the Association wished to benefit from the framework of this agreement as a starting point to increase its support to the LAF and thus the decision was made to channel the financial resources it gathered from donations and external support to boost the capabilities of the LAF in fighting coronavirus based on the belief of the necessity of providing protection to the soldiers who are protecting and defending the country. It is worth mentioning that the signature of this agreement between the Lebanese Association of the Knights of Malta and the LAF was concluded following the success of a model pilot project for a joint center in the southern town of Rmeich.
