The LAF Commander Visits the UNIFIL’s Command and Emphasizes Its Essential and Necessary Role in the South

The Lebanese Armed Forces Commander General Rodolph Haykal, visited the United Nations Interim Force in Lebanon (UNIFIL) headquarters in Naqoura, where he met with the Head of Mission and Force Commander, Lieutenant General Aroldo Lázaro.

During the meeting, the latest developments in the Southern Litani Sector were discussed, as well as the importance of close coordination and cooperation between the LAF and UNIFIL within the framework of Resolution 1701. The essential role of UNIFIL in efforts to restore stability in the south was highlighted, amid ongoing Israeli attacks and violations of Lebanon's sovereignty and security, as well as the occupation of Lebanese territories, which hindered the LAF's full deployment in the south.
