The Lebanese Army Commander in Chief General Joseph Aoun and a number of senior commanding officers and commanders of major units and independent regiments attended a combat maneuver with live ammunition in the Al-Aqoura area, carried out by cadets of the second and third years of the Military Academy, including 103 females out of 235, which is the first time that they participate in a combat maneuver, after choosing specializations from the forces of land, sea and air.

The maneuver simulated attacking and destroying a terrorist group entrenched in the heights of the region, using light, medium and heavy weapons, support weapons, helicopters and aircraft.

After the maneuver, General Aoun addressed the participating officers and cadets, praising the performance and professionalism they showed and pointing out that the participation of the female officer cadets of various specializations for the first time in a combat maneuver confirms that the intellectual and physical abilities do not differ between a man and a woman, especially after they have undergone three years of training in the Military Academy.

He commended the efforts made by the officer cadets, stressing that they will be the leaders of the future, and that they bear a great responsibility in making decisions that protect the homeland and the institution.

He stressed that success is the fruit of every hard work in which everyone participates with a solid will and strong determination facing challenges, especially during the difficult stages and harsh conditions that the country is going through, which require the utmost levels of awareness and vigilance.

He pointed out that Army Command will spare no effort in seeking assistance from countries friends of Lebanon to help the army go through this stage. He pointed out that the gift that the State of Qatar has thankfully announced will be disbursed to support the salaries of the military upon receipt, stressing that the military institution is making great efforts in securing medical care for the military personnel and their families, and developing it in the way that they deserve.
