Live fire maneuver in the barren hills of Akoura

A live fire drill was performed by the 6th Infantry Brigade today in the barren hills of Akoura and simulated an attack launched against terrorist groups in rugged borderline terrain and the liquidation of the militants. The drill was attended by senior Army officers from major army units, brigades and independent regiments.
During the drill, shootings with artillery, tanks, helicopters, mortars light and medium weapons took place.
In related news, and under the supervision of the Special Forces School, army units from the 3rd Infantry Brigade in addition to the 1st Armored Vehicles Regiment, the 2nd Artillery Regiment, 3rd Land Border Regiment with the participation of the Air Force and the Navy performed a drill where medium and heavy caliber weapons in the shooting range of Hannoush – Hamat and simulated the liquidation of a terrorist group deployed in the surrounding of urban areas.
Both drills come as part of a qualitative training plan set by the Army Command in order to increase the level of preparedness of units and their readiness for swift and efficient intervention in different combat circumstances.
