The Armed Forces Commander in chief, General Joseph Aoun inspected the second helicopter, Type Agusta bell AB - 212, which was reinstated in service by the Air Forces after it had stopped flying since 1990, in addition to the second helicopter, the Puma type, had major maintenance and more than half the cost was saved. Such Maintenance takes place every 15 years at the manufacturer.
General Aoun also attended a detailed explanation given by the Air Force Commander about the stages taken by the project to return old helicopters to work.
He praised the efforts made by the Air Force officers and technicians to complete the project, especially after their success in reinstating two helicopters back in service within two years of working with modest financial capabilities and under stifling economic conditions, which required an austere financial policy adopted by the military establishment.
General Aoun stressed that solid will and condensation of efforts and energies would lead to overcoming difficulties, no matter how large they are.
