Officer and Soldier Injured During Raid and Arrest of Wanted Individual in Marjaba – Matn

The Army Command – Directorate of Orientation issued the following statement:

On 14/7/2026, citizen (J.S.) opened fire toward citizens and residential areas in the town of Bteghrine – Matn. Following the incident, an army unit carried out raids in several towns and arrested the aforementioned citizen in Marjaba – Matn. A quantity of weapons, military ammunition, narcotics, as well as military equipment were seized. During the raid, the unit came under fire from the wanted individual, resulting in the injury of an officer and a soldier.

The seized items were handed over and an investigation was initiated with the detainees under the supervision of the competent judicial authority.
