Opening of a diving accidents center at the Navy Commandos barrack

The LAF Commander General Joseph Aoun participated in the opening of the diving accidents center at the Navy Commandos barrack in the presence of the Cypriot National Guard Commander Lieutenant General Ilias Leontaris and an accompanying delegation along with the Ambassador of Cyprus to Lebanon Ms. Christina Rafti as well as LAF officers. This center is considered unique in the Middle East region and includes a compression room, a gas mixing room, an air filling room and a storage space for technical diving equipment. The Center has already treated more than thirty civilians who suffered diving accidents. The Navy Commandos regiment performed later on a live fire ammunition drill with the participation of the LAF Air Force and a naval unit of the same regiment consisting of 35 boats of different sizes. The drill simulated the destruction of a terrorist group entrenched throughout the coast.
