Raid operation in Akkar and killing of a number of individuals involved in the murder of a soldier and a citizen

The Army Command – Directorate of Orientation issued the following statement:

On 16/5/2021, a patrol from the Intelligence Directorate arrested  (A.AA.) in Al-Bahsa - Deir Dloum - Akkar during a raid on his residence, where the perpetrators of the murder of soldier (I.J.) and citizen (C.G.) were hiding in  Beit Jaafar (Al-Nanaa) on 05/01/2021.
During the raid, the patrol came under fire from the aforementioned residence and its surroundings. The soldiers were forced to respond to the sources of the fire, which led to the death of the two fugitive corporals who participated in the crime in addition to the death of (KH. A) and the injury of his wife (S.D.) and (M. A). A quantity of weapons and ammunition was seized.
An investigation was initiated under the supervision of the competent judiciary authorities.
